Projek 2020: PPE Mask Adaptor #inisemuakeranacodiv19

Assalamualaikum..

Posting kali ni in English ya gaisss... hahaa.. sebab saya buat write up dan poster untuk assignment subject Adult Education. Subject ni fun sebab the instructor is so creative! hihi.. so alang-alang dah buat poster, saya share la kan sini sebagai kenang-kenangan 😊😊 #sharingiscaring

This project started when a friend shared a photo of mask adaptor crocheted by DYMM SPB Raja Permaisuri Agong on Instagram (airtangan_tunkuazizah). My friend knows that I like to do craft work, so she suggested me to try this too. The mask adaptor crochet pattern used by DYMM SPB Raja Permaisuri Agong was also then shared by the kind crafter on her Instagram account after so many requests in her Instagram account (Instagram account: Tatarenda.my).

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to read graphic crochet pattern that was shared. I only know how to read written pattern. So, I search for free pattern via the Internet and there was a variety of patterns. Few patterns really catch my attention. (Keyword for searching: mask adaptor crochet pattern, mask extender crochet pattern, free crochet pattern).

After screening through the patterns found, I decided to try crocheting the mask adaptor using only two patterns, both have written patterns and YouTube videos. With few trials, I choose to stick to the pattern by Carol Passaro, which was shared by Sarah-Jayne Fragola on her blog Cella Coco Crochet at this link  https://bellacococrochet.com/ppe-mask-adaptor-pattern/. I made a few and post it on my Instagram Stories. Unexpectedly, there are more requests coming in from my fellow friends who would love to have this mask adaptor. Since I’m doing this just for fun and didn’t intend to sell it yet, some friends are paying me with banana cake, cookies, chocolates and ‘duit raya’ for my kids #bartertrade.

Here, I would like to share about the process of crocheting a PPE Mask Adaptor. Picture collages are snapshots from my amateur video recording (need to learn how to shoot videos afterward!). The materials needed are also in the pictures below.

These are the pictures of some of the mask adaptors I managed to crochet during the short semester break/ MCO break. Do try to make it yourself! You’ll be amazed with the results.
